CASE STUDY · HOME HEALTHCARE
We built the whole Domedo platform from scratch: a patient app for finding and booking verified specialists for home visits, a specialist app for a working day on the road, and a backend with an admin panel and marketplace payments through Stripe Connect.
OUR CLIENT
Domedo is a Polish startup launching in Warsaw and the surrounding towns. It is a two sided marketplace that connects patients with verified physiotherapists, midwives and medical trainers who come to the patient's home, with the booking, the payment and the communication handled in one platform. Domedo needed a mobile app development company in Poland to build that platform end to end, for patients and for specialists at the same time.
THE CHALLENGE
For many patients the hardest part of treatment is getting to the clinic: after surgery or an injury, in the first weeks after giving birth, with limited mobility or simply with no free hours in the day. Domedo set out to change that in Warsaw with a platform where patients book verified physiotherapists, midwives and medical trainers for a visit at home, with a final price that already includes travel. That meant building for two very different users at once: patients who need to find the right specialist and book in a few taps, and specialists who spend their day moving between addresses and need their calendar, routes, patients and messages in one place.
THE PRODUCT
The patient app lets people search by service and location, compare verified specialists by experience, treated conditions and reviews, and book a home visit at a chosen address and time, with chat for questions before booking.
The specialist app is built around the working day on the road: a calendar of visits with addresses, directions to the next patient, a patient list with visit history, and visit proposals sent straight from the chat.

PATIENT APP
The home screen starts with the question patients actually have: what kind of home visit they need. Search covers services and specialists at once, quick categories cover physiotherapy, midwifery, training and massage, and recommended specialists are shown for the patient's area.

Inviting a stranger into your home needs trust, so profiles lead with it: a verification badge, the professional licence number, years of experience, certificates, treated conditions and reviews from other patients.

Category results are built for booking, not browsing: each specialist card shows the service, its length and the next available times, with filters for earliest availability, specialisations and language.

Booking starts from the visit address, including notes such as the floor or entrance, then moves to a calendar that shows which days still have free times. Changing the date or address later uses the same screen.

Patients see upcoming and past visits with their status, specialist, time and address. After a visit, the app follows up with a notification asking how the patient feels, which keeps the relationship going between sessions.

Patients sign in with Apple, Google, Facebook or a phone number. The account keeps saved specialists, saved addresses, payment methods and order history, so booking the next visit takes a few taps.

SPECIALIST APP
The specialist app opens on the working day: every visit with its time, patient and address, a clear marker for the visit in progress, and a weekly view with the number of visits and working hours for each day.

Each visit has a map, the full address with entrance notes, one tap directions, and contact with the patient. When the specialist sets off, the patient is told they are on the way, and the visit starts only after the patient's PIN confirms that the right specialist has arrived at the right home.

Patients can ask questions before they book. The specialist can reply and send a visit proposal straight from the conversation, which the patient confirms in the app.

A searchable patient list shows how many visits each person has had, so returning patients and their history are always one tap away.

HOW WE BUILT IT
Both apps built by our Flutter app development team from one codebase for iOS and Android, from a UI design prepared by an independent designer working with the client.
Availability, bookings, visit statuses, chat with visit proposals, notifications and the PIN that confirms the start of every visit.
Patients pay through the platform, funds reach specialists securely, and the platform owner receives a commission on every visit. Our guide to marketplace app payments explains this model.
An admin panel where the Domedo team verifies specialists before they appear to patients and manages the platform day to day.
Safety shaped the product as much as convenience. A home visit means a specialist entering someone's home, so specialists are verified by the Domedo team before they are visible, and every visit starts only after the patient's PIN confirms that the person at the door is the specialist who was booked.
RESULTS
In about six months, a timeline typical for a booking platform with two apps, Domedo went from an idea to a complete platform: two Flutter apps, a NestJS backend, an admin panel and marketplace payments through Stripe Connect. The website and landing pages are already live, and the apps are preparing to launch on the App Store and Google Play in Warsaw and the surrounding towns.

FAQ
How do you build a home healthcare app like Domedo?
Domedo needed two apps and one backend: a patient app for search, profiles, booking and visits, a specialist app for the calendar, routes, patients and chat, and a backend with an admin panel and marketplace payments. Our booking app development page covers how we scope products like this.
How do payments work in a healthcare marketplace?
Domedo uses Stripe Connect: the patient pays through the platform, funds reach the specialist securely, and the platform takes its commission. Our guide to marketplace app payments explains how this model works.
How are specialists verified?
Specialists register in the app and an administrator verifies them in the admin panel before they appear to patients. Verified profiles show a badge and the specialist's professional licence number.
How long does it take to build a platform like this?
Domedo, with a patient app, a specialist app, a backend, an admin panel and payments, took about six months from kickoff to a launch ready product.
How much does a home healthcare app cost?
It depends on the number of apps and roles, the payment model and integrations such as maps and notifications. Our guide to booking app development cost breaks down the drivers, and our pricing page explains how we scope and price fixed price projects.

Patients and specialists, bookings and payments, one platform. We can scope it with you and give you a fixed price for the first release.
